Purpose

This Privacy Policy describes the information that we at Graphwise collect and process in connection with semanticbackbone.ai (referred to herein as the “Site”).

Who are we?

The Site is operated by Semantic Backbone Council, registered in the Austrian Vereinsregister, with headquarters in 1070 Wien, Austria, address Neubaugasse 1 / Top8. Semantic Backbone Council acts as the controller in respect of the processing described in this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect and the purposes of processing

The Site is informational in nature. It provides no accounts, registration, forms or downloads and we do not invite you to submit any information by which you may be identified. The sole processing carried out through the Site is the collection of technical information by means of Google Analytics 4, which takes place only where you have accepted analytics cookies. That information comprises a randomly generated identifier stored in cookies on your device, your IP address, basic characteristics of your device and browser and details of the pages you view. It is used exclusively to measure traffic and engagement in aggregated form for the purpose of improving the Site. It is not used for advertising, retargeting or profiling, it is not combined with any other source and no attempt is made to identify individual visitors. Our legal basis is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) and Article 4b of the Bulgarian Electronic Communications Act.

Cookies and consent

No analytics cookies are placed on your device before you have accepted them through the consent banner displayed on your first visit. Where consent is given, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, one serving to recognise a returning browser and one maintaining the state of your session. Both expire 13 months after your first visit and are not renewed on subsequent visits. Where consent is refused, Google Analytics is not loaded and a single cookie is stored for the sole purpose of recording your preference.

Refusal is presented as an equally accessible option and the Site remains fully functional in either case. You may amend or withdraw your consent at any time by means of the cookie settings link in the footer of the Site. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to it.

Recipients and international transfers

Google processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Google may transfer it outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as affording an adequate level of protection. Where the Framework does not apply, transfers are governed by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. A copy of the applicable safeguards is available upon request. The data is disclosed to no other recipient, save where disclosure is required by law or is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Retention

Data collected through Google Analytics is retained for a maximum period of 14 months from your last visit, upon the expiry of which it is deleted.

Your rights

You are entitled to obtain access to this data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format and to withdraw your consent at any time.

The data we hold consists of pseudonymous identifiers which we are not ordinarily in a position to link to you. Pursuant to Article 11(2) of the General Data Protection Regulation, we are not required to obtain additional information for the sole purpose of identifying you. We would therefore ask you to provide the relevant identifier where you wish to exercise your rights.

You are further entitled to lodge a complaint with the Commission for Personal Data Protection, 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., 1592 Sofia, Bulgaria, www.kzld.bg, or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
